This is the 16th vintage of the Helm Premium range of Rieslings, a terroir. wine from one of Helm Wines two premium vineyards. Since 2004 this style has collected 14 trophies at regional and capital city wine shows, and rave reviews from Australia's most respected wine critics. It's the go to wine for a classic Canberra Riesling. The fruit was sourced for this vintage from the Lustenberger vineyard with the Riesling GM198 clone.
The 2023 was the 3rd coolest vintages in 50 years. It started with floods, hail, and cool wet conditions, which continued through to the coolest summer on record with two days of light frosts in mid-December. Dry warm condition started in January and continued through to Harvest, resulting in late harvests. Riesling excelled with incredible flavours, crisp acid and perfectly balanced palate. Yields were average or above. A Riesling year to remember.
Intense lemony / lavender nose, clean bright and lifted. The wine is very delicate and fine, with lingering lime fruit. A beautifully balanced Riesling of acid, fruit, and texture. A high quality wine with many years cellaring potential.
A versatile wine that will complement a variety of cuisines. Drinks beautifully now with grilled Whiting.
25 years plus, although if you prefer fresh crisp wines drink it now.Back to all wines
