Central Ranges Riesling

Our goal is to produce quality Rieslings right across Australia that show the diverse terroir or characteristics of each region. We began sourcing fruit from Justin Jarrett’s vineyard located near Orange in 2013. If we source fruit from outside the Canberra District region this is always displayed on the label. The Central Ranges includes the NSW regions of Orange, Cowra and Mudgee.

The Grapes

Orange is a cool climate wine region similar to Murrumbateman although with slightly lower average monthly temperatures and even snow occasionally in winter. The vineyard is easterly situated on red basalt soils at 700m elevation. The vines are meticulously managed and the fruit was of superb quality, free from disease, sunburn and bird damage. The grapes were handpicked and delivered immediately to the Helm winery at Murrumbateman where they were allowed to cool overnight before early morning processing.

The Wine

White flowers and citrus blossom aroma. Clean and fresh, soft ripe pear and lemon zest underpinned by refreshing acidity. A delicious Riesling exhibiting the uniqueness of the grape and its ability to express terroir.

Serve with

A versatile wine that will pair wonderfully with many foods, particularly Asian cuisine and seafood.

Cellar for

10 years plus, although if you prefer fresh crisp wines drink it over the next 5 years.
