Premium Riesling 2009

2009 vintage was like 2008 near perfect for Riesling, with excellent rain and warm conditions prior to Christmas, a dry hot summer, but missed the prolonged intense heat, and a warm autumn ensuring perfect ripeness in the fruit.
This is the 5th vintage of the Premium range of Rieslings, a terroir wine from Helm Wines and neighbour Al Lustenberger's vineyard. Only perfect specially-selected fruit is used to create the Premium Riesling, and the wine is only released under the Premium black label if it reaches a quality benchmark.
Fresh lifted floral nose with crisp fruit, balanced with acid and a ferric minerality, reflecting the iron content of the soils. Soft persistent fruit with elegant structure, showing all the classic flavours of the variety.
